About Teresia

Teresia moved to the United States as a young woman of 24 years in 1995 after completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Kenyatta University in Nairobi, Kenya. She had a goal of going to school. Without any family members and with the help of a family friend (whom she met for the first time in the US) her journey began. She worked as a live-in house keeper while going to school to pursue her Masters Degree in Special Education. With all the struggles of an International Student, she still worked two full time jobs. Teresia spend 14 years as a teacher. She currently works as a Learning Disability Specialist in a public-school district in New Jersey. She is also an author for Learning Unlimited LLC where she creates professional development courses for teachers and educators. In 2018, Teresia experienced personal tragedy of losing both of her parents within four-month period. This painful experience left her depressed. She soon realized that her gift of encouraging and supporting others offered her joy and purpose. Her love for others especially the immigrant community prompted her to start a platform for inspiring, challenging and educating (ICE) the immigrant community.
